Un día típico en Alicante
So what does the typical day look like for students in the Alicante Language and Culture program?
From 9-12 the students are in language class at the "U-lab" in the center of town next to the Plaza de San Cristobal. This allows for the students to engage in activities outside the classroom when their class finishes at 12. This is what we call the "In to the Community Activity" and it runs from 12:15 - 1. Activities range from finding street art, to buying local newspapers and magazines from kiosks, to ordering tapas at a restaurant. The idea is for the students to apply what they have learned in class in a real world situation. Below you'll find some photos of the students in class and in their ITC activities.
After their ITC activities the students have free time before they have to arrive to their host families for lunch, typically around 230. At 5 the group gets back together for the afternoon cultural activity, which include activities such as visiting museums, going to the movies, city tours, ceramic classes, dance classes and much more. At night they return to their home for dinner and time to relax and socialize with their Spanish families.
With one week under their belts, it seems like the students are getting settled in to a good rhythm!
Chao for now,
