EL ALCÁZAR DE SEVILLA
The Álcazar is the name of the Islamic palace of Seville, built by the Christian king Pedro I. The architectural style is known as Mudejar, a unique style that blends both cultures, only found in Spain.
Our students learned a lot about the history of the palace and its inhabitants from our guide, Fernando.
A terrace overlooking the gardens of the Alcázar.
Inside the private rooms: archs, tiles, plaster and wood are the main elements used in the decorations.
A pool in between rooms provides both for freshness and aesthetic beauty.
The oldest part of the alcázar: XIIth century, the only original muslim remains.
An example of the woodworks: one of the domes.
Our students listening to the explanations of Fernando.
